This agreement
By creating an account, buying a ticket or publishing an event on Venuora, you agree to these
terms. If you do not agree with them, do not use the platform. Where you use Venuora on behalf
of a company, you confirm you are authorised to bind that company to these terms.
Who does what
Venuora is a ticketing platform, not an event promoter. Events are created,
priced, described and run by independent organizers. When you buy a ticket, your contract for
attending that event is with the organizer. Our contract with you is for the ticketing
service: taking payment, issuing a valid ticket and admitting you at the gate.
This matters when something goes wrong. If an event is late, oversold, moved or cancelled, the
organizer is responsible for the event; we are responsible for handling the ticketing
consequences fairly, as set out below.
Your account
- You must be at least 13 years old to hold an account, and old enough to meet any age restriction an organizer sets for their event.
- Give accurate details. Your ticket is issued against the name and email on your account, and gate staff may check them.
- Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for activity under your account until you tell us it has been compromised.
- One person, one account. Accounts created in bulk or to evade limits will be closed.
Buying tickets
- Prices are shown in Nigerian Naira and include any platform fee shown at checkout before you pay.
- Tickets are held in your basket for a limited window at checkout. If payment is not completed within that window, the hold is released and the tickets return to general sale.
- Your order is only confirmed once payment succeeds and you receive a ticket with a QR code. A pending or failed payment is not a ticket.
- Organizers may set a minimum and maximum quantity per order. Attempts to exceed those limits across multiple accounts may be cancelled.
- If a listed price is obviously wrong, we may cancel the affected orders and refund them in full rather than honour the error.
Delivery and entry
- Tickets are delivered digitally and are available immediately in My tickets.
- Each ticket carries a signed QR code. It is scanned once at the gate. Screenshots shared with other people will not admit them, because the first scan invalidates the code.
- Entry is subject to the organizer's own conditions: age limits, dress code, prohibited items, capacity and the law. We cannot admit you where the organizer or venue refuses entry on those grounds.
- Latecomers may be refused entry if the organizer says so on the event page. Check the running order before you travel.
Cancellations and refunds
If the organizer cancels
You are entitled to a refund of the ticket face value. We will process it to your original
payment method or your Venuora wallet, whichever the organizer's settlement position allows,
and we will tell you which. Refunds depend on the organizer's funds being recoverable; where
an organizer has already been paid out and refuses to return the money, we will pursue them,
but we cannot guarantee the outcome.
If the event is moved or materially changed
A change of date, venue or headline act is material. Your ticket normally remains valid for
the new date, and you may instead request a refund within 14 days of being notified.
If you change your mind
Tickets to a scheduled live event are generally not refundable simply because you can no
longer attend. Individual ticket types may be marked refundable by the organizer, in which
case the terms shown on that ticket type apply. Where a ticket is transferable, you can move
it to someone else or list it on the resale market instead.
Fees
Where we refund a ticket because an event was cancelled, the platform fee is refunded too.
Payment processor charges on the original transaction may not be recoverable.
The resale market
Venuora runs a controlled resale market so tickets you cannot use do not go to waste, and so
buyers are protected from touts. The rules are strict:
- Only tickets the organizer has marked transferable may be listed.
- You may not list a ticket above the price you paid for it. Listings above face value are rejected.
- A listed ticket is locked while it is on sale. When it sells, the QR code is reissued to the buyer and your copy stops working immediately, so the same ticket cannot be sold twice.
- Proceeds land in your Venuora wallet once the sale completes.
- Listing tickets you do not hold, or advertising Venuora tickets on external resale sites at inflated prices, will get your account closed and your tickets voided without refund.
Wallet and rewards
- Your wallet holds balance from resale proceeds and refunds. It is not a bank account, it earns no interest, and it is not covered by deposit insurance.
- Points, stamps and rewards have no cash value, cannot be sold or transferred, and may expire or change. They are a loyalty feature, not currency.
- Withdrawals from your wallet are made to the bank account you verify, and may be delayed while we run anti-fraud checks.
Organizer obligations
If you publish events on Venuora, you additionally agree that:
- You have the legal right to run the event, including any venue booking, licence, permit and insurance it requires.
- Your event listing is accurate. Date, venue, line-up, age restrictions and what a ticket actually includes must be truthful and kept up to date.
- You will not oversell beyond the safe capacity of your venue.
- You will honour every valid ticket sold through the platform.
- You will tell your attendees promptly, through the platform, about any cancellation or material change.
- You will handle attendee data only for the purpose of running your event, will keep it secure, and will not sell it or add people to unrelated marketing lists.
- You are responsible for the tax due on your ticket revenue.
- You will fund refunds owed to attendees where you cancel an event, including after payout.
Fees and payouts
- Our platform fee is shown to you before you publish, and to buyers before they pay.
- Ticket revenue is held until after the event, then released on request, less our fee and any refunds or chargebacks against your event.
- Payouts go to the verified bank account on your organizer profile. We may hold a payout while we investigate a dispute, an unusual pattern of sales, or a high volume of complaints.
- Chargebacks raised by your attendees are deducted from your balance.
Prohibited conduct
You must not:
- Buy or sell tickets fraudulently, or with a payment method you are not authorised to use.
- Duplicate, forge or tamper with a ticket or its QR code.
- Use bots, scripts or automation to buy tickets, scrape the site or overwhelm it.
- Create an event you do not intend to run, or list an event that is illegal, hateful, or promotes violence.
- Impersonate another person, organizer or venue.
- Interfere with the platform's security, probe it for vulnerabilities without permission, or attempt to access data that is not yours.
- Post reviews or reports that are false, defamatory or paid for.
Content and intellectual property
The Venuora name, design, code and branding belong to us. Event artwork, descriptions and
other material uploaded by an organizer belong to that organizer, who grants us a licence to
display and promote it on the platform and in platform marketing while their event is live.
Anything you post — reviews, photos, squad messages — remains yours, but you grant us a
non-exclusive licence to display it on Venuora. Do not upload material you do not have the
rights to. If you believe your copyright has been infringed, contact us and we will act.
Suspension and termination
You can close your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account, cancel tickets or
unpublish an event where we reasonably believe these terms have been broken, where fraud is
suspected, or where we are legally required to. Where we cancel legitimately bought tickets
for a reason that is not your fault, we refund them.
Liability
We provide the ticketing platform with reasonable skill and care, but we do not promise it
will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we are not liable for the conduct of an organizer,
the quality or safety of an event, or anything that happens at a venue.
To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you in connection with the platform is
limited to the amount you paid for the ticket that the claim relates to. Nothing in these
terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or
for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
Disputes and governing law
Talk to us first: most problems are resolved quickly by email. If we cannot settle a dispute
informally, these terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and the
courts of Lagos State have jurisdiction. Nothing here removes a consumer protection you have
under the law of the country where you live.
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. We may update
these terms; when we do we will move the date at the top of this page, and material changes
will be notified before they take effect. Continuing to use Venuora after that means you
accept the new terms.
